Autocross setup buffer image from last weekend for the continued drama below. Yes, I really do sticker up my car for events and then clean it up after. I bought a roll of magnetic sheeting from Amazon and have been making my own out of available stickers...

This is continuing my post from yesterday:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

After last night’s phone call with the daughter she did some more thinking about things. She called me tonight to let me know that they’re working things out on their end and that I don’t need to come to Houston. I can only think that my honest response to her about not taking in the boyfriend has assisted in her thinking on the issues. That and my talk with her mom that no, I wouldn’t be taking the boy, nor changing any rules.

Tonight’s call came in from her 19 year old sister’s phone, which means that my slightly older and wiser daughter, who also doesn’t like her sister’s boyfriend, may have been injecting some reason into the conversations. She’s good at that. Level head on that one.

We will see if this is the end of the conversation...

I sure hope so. I’ve been texting with the 19 year-old. Daughter was trying to run away from mom, but they all talked today and things are better. Unfortunately we’re still saddled with the deadbeat boyfriend...

Did you try offering the boyfriend like $1k to drop out of your lives?

If I hadn’t just spent that cash fixing the daughters’ cars I might have...

How well does the magnets hold? And do you worry about it scratching the paint? I was thinking of making some decals for when I drag race my camaro to look like an old super stock car.

They hold really well and don’t move around at all. Lately I’ve been driving home with them on the car. I have lost some on track when doing 100+, but for autocross and normal street driving they’ve been good. The secret is really making sure you get a good clean surface.

I’m not worried about scratching. I’ve had the car ceramic coated and that seems to be doing really well at keeping the shine up and scratches down. I also daily drive the thing and have a bunch of dumb rock chips up front.

Ah ok, Ill have to look into them a little more as I trap at 114ish every pass , don’t want them flying off and causing issues. Was going to get true decals for the markings I need on my glass.

yeah, for the glass markings I would go with real decals. Oddly I’ve never had one of my home made ones come off at speed, only the ones I’ve bought from others.  It rained this past weekend, they held great all through the terrible weather.
